Student & Scholar Health Insurance at USA

The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is provided by UnitedHealthcare Student Resources (UHCSR).  For students enrolled in the SHIP, most services that are provided on-site are not subject to co-pays or deductibles. You may have a co-pay or deductible if seen by another provider outside of Student Health.

Eligibility Requirements & Who Is Eligible?

All full-time USA undergraduate students are eligible to purchase the student health insurance plan. Part-time, USA undergraduates enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester on campus (in a traditional classroom setting) and USA graduate students enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester on campus (in a traditional classroom setting) are eligible to purchase the student health insurance. 

Eligible students may also insure their dependents. Eligible dependents are the student's spouse and dependent children under 26 years of age.

*Students must actively attend classes for at least the first 31 days after the date for which coverage is purchased. Home study, correspondence, Internet and television (TV) courses do not fulfill the Eligibility requirements that the student actively attend classes. UHCSR maintains its right to investigate Eligibility or student status and attendance records to verify that the policy Eligibility requirements have been met. If UHCSR discovers the eligibility requirements have not been met, its only obligation is to refund the premium and cancel coverage.

**Auburn School of Pharmacy students are NOT eligible to purchase the USA United Healthcare Student Resources student health plan. Please contact Auburn University to enroll in their university sponsored student health plan.
