Doctor of Audiology
The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program at USA prepares students for professional clinical audiology careers and certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as for further graduate study leading to a PhD. Our comprehensive curriculum includes foundational science courses and specialized training in assessment, intervention, and prevention techniques for hearing and balance disorders across all ages.
Students gain hands-on experience through clinical practicums at the USA Speech and Hearing Center and various community sites, including private practices, hospitals, and schools. The program spans 9 semesters, including three semesters of a full-time clinical externship, meeting the requirements for national certification (CCC-A) and Alabama State Licensure. Competitive Graduate Assistantships are available annually.
Applications are accepted after August 1, with enrollment beginning in the Summer Semester. The preferred deadline for receipt of application materials is December 15, but applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Decisions are made as complete applications are received.
