Nurse Practitioner Residency Program
Nurse Practitioner Residency Program
The èßäÊÓƵ (USA) College of Nursing has been awarded a grant funded by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to prepare new Nurse Practitioners (NPs) for practice in community-based settings through a clinical and academic focused 12-month Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. The Advanced Nursing Education Nurse Practitioner Residency (ANE NPR) Program in partnership with USA Health, Coastal Family Health Center, and AltaPointe Health aims to better meet the needs of behavioral health and primary care providers serving populations in rural and urban underserved communities.
This program is open to recent graduates with a Master of Science in Nursing degree who are interested in obtaining additional training and the tools needed to provide high-quality patient care in rural and urban underserved communities. Individuals who completed their Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner specialty within the past 18 months and are committed to developing career practices in challenging community-based settings are encouraged to apply.
Alabama or Mississippi Licensure and Board of Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty are required prior to the start of the program (depending on placement).
